In Memory of Susan Blackett 1944 - 2021
Mummy was my best friend and mentor. In 2017 she began to suffer from motor neurone disease. She was never one to be defeated and in 2020 she held an online exhibition of her fantastic paintings. She raised enough money to buy sensory buzzers for suffers, money for the MNDA and most notably an entire stem cell incubator for the incredible MND research programme at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford where she herself was a patient. MND is a horrific disease and no words can describe its brutality. I dream of a day when no one else, or their families, have to suffer from its cruelty. We are so proud of Mummy and her achievements. To continue her legacy and in her memory, I will be donating a percentage of each of my own picture sales directly to this research programme. |
